Choose a location that receives partial sunlight to prevent excessive algae growth. 2. Ensure the ground is level and clear of roots, rocks, and other debris. Step 2: Mark and Excavate 1. Place the plastic pebble pond on the ground and mark its outline with string or chalk. 2. Dig a hole slightly larger than the reservoir’s dimensions. 3. Add a 2-inch layer of sand or fine gravel to the base of the hole for stability and leveling. Step 3: Position the Reservoir 1. Place the reservoir in the hole and check that it sits level using a spirit level. 2. Backfill around the edges with soil to secure it, tamping down gently to eliminate air pockets.
